Basketball Recap: Olivia Schroder's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carroll over Clinton Prairie

Carroll was the 62-25 winner over Clinton Prairie when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Carroll Cougars took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clinton Prairie Gophers. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Carroll lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Olivia Schroder, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Schroder a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Salts, who scored ten points.

Abbey Swan was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. Ava Shockley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Clinton Prairie, their record is now 8-10.

Carroll didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-26 win against Eastern on the 21st. Clinton Prairie has also already played their next contest, a 54-10 victory against Frankfort on the 21st.
