Basketball Recap: Ryan Carroll's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Park Rapids over Pelican Rapids

Park Rapids lost against Pelican Rapids back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The game between the Park Rapids Panthers and the Pelican Rapids Vikings didn't end well, with the Park Rapids Panthers falling 81-66. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Park Rapids lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ryan Carroll, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Carroll also racked up three blocks, the most he's had since back in February. Carter Hirt was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine assists.

Even though they lost, Park Rapids was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Park Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pelican Rapids, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Park Rapids will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Pelican Rapids will take on Wadena-Deer Creek in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pelican Rapids' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
