Basketball Recap: Richwoods Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Richwoods had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bloomington Purple Raiders by a score of 38-28. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Bloomington lost, don't look at Tina Lenard. Despite the final result, she posted ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Bloomington is 8-3 when Lenard posts three or more steals, but 7-8 otherwise.

Richwoods' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for Bloomington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.
