Baseball Recap: Springfield Has No Trouble Against Granada

Springfield barely beat Granada the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Bobcats on Tuesday. That looming 9-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Longhorns yet this season.

Jorey Billings was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Gunner Mackey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Springfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .550. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Springfield and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Granada, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
