Football Game Preview: Tennyson Lancers vs. James Logan Colts + How To Watch

The Tennyson Lancers will face off against the James Logan Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tennyson is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against San Leandro on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lancers had to suffer through a 35-6 loss at the hands of the Pirates. The game marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Tennyson got top-tier performance from Montrell Rice-Tuigamala, who rushed for 170 yards while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Rice-Tuigamala was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, James Logan beat Moreau Catholic 24-19 last Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.

James Logan found their leader in sophomore Jeramiyah Cotton, who rushed for 192 yards and one score, and also picked up 41 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: James Logan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

James Logan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cotton and Teddy Gaoteote. That interception was Gaoteote's first of the season.

James Logan's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Tennyson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Tennyson was taken down by James Logan 34-3 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lancers were down 21-0.
