Basketball Recap: St. Michael Triumphs

St. Michael won the last time they faced Istrouma and things went their way on Tuesday too. The St. Michael Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Istrouma Indians, sneaking past 52-50.

When it comes to explaining why Istrouma lost, don't look at Eryn Brown. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 34 points and 20 boards. That was a full 68% of Istrouma's points, marking the 23rd time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Kay'Lee Shepherd was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

St. Michael has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Istrouma, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 17-8.

St. Michael has already played their next matchup (against McKinley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Istrouma will square off against Brusly at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brusly will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Istrouma surely won't give up without a fight.
