The Washington Panthers will challenge the Eureka Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Washington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Washington after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Normal University, falling 14-7. The Panthers have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Owen Klein made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Eureka put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They had just enough and edged out Lincoln 10-8.

Eureka's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Washington, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Washington couldn't quite finish off Eureka in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 and fell 10-8. Can Washington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
