Volleyball Recap: Spearfish Takes Down Ranked Rapid City Christian

Spearfish faced Rapid City Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Spartans walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Comets. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Spearfish easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15.

Adelyn Bouman paced Spearfish's offense, picking up ten kills. Bouman got some help from Kali Reiners and her 26 assists. Bouman also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lilliana Sadowski, racking up two apiece.

Spearfish is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Rapid City Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Spearfish will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Comets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
