Basketball Recap: Tandem Friends Finds Home Court Redemption Against Randolph-Macon Academy

There's no place like home for Tandem Friends, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They were the clear victor by a 72-51 margin over the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets on Thursday. With the Badgers ahead 43-22 at the half, the match was all but over already.

It was another big night for Sean Tyler, who posted 35 points. He has become a key player for Tandem Friends: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 25 points, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zaquis Timberlake, who put up 17 points.

Randolph-Macon Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Negussie, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of David Kayeye, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points.

Tandem Friends now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 16-2.

Tandem Friends does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-60 defeat against Wakefield School on the 14th.
