Softball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maquoketa Valley Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Maquoketa Valley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-3 defeat against Central City on the 7th. As for Maquoketa Valley, they have also already played their next game, an 11-7 loss against Marquette on the 10th.
