Baseball Recap: Fallston Drops Season-High Score on Joppatowne

Fallston's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Joppatowne Mariners 22-7. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Aiden Stromberger was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Luca Santoro and Garrett Kersch did most of the damage at the plate: Santoro went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one double, while Kersch scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Zach Loewe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Fallston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Fallston moved to 4-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Joppatowne, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Fallston will have a chance to go back-to-back against Joppatowne: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
