Baseball Preview: Heritage Mountaineers vs. Seymour Eagles
Heritage and Seymour are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Heritage Mountaineers will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Seymour Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The last four games Heritage has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Heritage took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Sequoyah.
Ryan (R.J.) Ilardi looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Brayden Littleton and Clay Travis did most of the damage at the plate: Littleton scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Travis scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
