Gilroy barely beat Westmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 13-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ariela Yslava was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jennie Hernandez was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024. Andrea Alvarez was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
