Recap: Willits Wolverines vs. Mendocino Cardinals
After a string of three wins, the Willits Wolverines's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Mendocino by a score of 45-43. Willits has struggled against Mendocino recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Willits lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kooper Dockins. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points. Jake Grooms was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Willits' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mendocino, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Willits will square off against Middletown at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Mendocino, they will head out on the road to face off against Rio Lindo Adventist at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rio Lindo Adventist focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
