Softball Recap: Bellbrook Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

Bellbrook proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ross Rams a 1-0 shutout. This was payback for the Golden Eagles, who suffered a 4-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Abigail Hebrank (2028), who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Ross off the board. Hebrank (2028) has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aleina Powell (2028) was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Bellbrook is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Ross, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Coming up, Bellbrook will be playing in front of their home fans against Clinton-Massie at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. Ross will be paying especially close attention to Bellbrook's matchup: after Bellbrook faces off against Clinton-Massie, they'll take on Ross again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
