Recap: Alvin Yellowjackets vs. Alief Elsik Rams
The Alvin Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 59-40 bruising from Alief Elsik. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alvin in their matchups with Alief Elsik: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Alvin still got an impressive performance from Chukwuemeka Phillips, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aydan Owens, who scored five points.
Alief Elsik's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ricky Wilson, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five steals. David Uwalaka was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Alvin's loss was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 8-16. As for Alief Elsik, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-12.
Alvin will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Alief Hastings at 4:30 p.m. Alief Hastings has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. As for Alief Elsik, they will head out on the road to take on Alief Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Taylor will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
