Football Preview: Chalmette Owls vs. Slidell Tigers
The Chalmette Owls will take on the Slidell Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chalmette will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Friday, Chalmette beat Fontainebleau 17-7.

It was another big night for Breez Wilson, who rushed for 96 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 154 yards and one touchdown. Those 96 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Wilson's aerial production (86 yards to be exact) went to Dana Antoine Jr.
Chalmette didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jyren Tapp.
Meanwhile, Slidell lost to Salmen at home by a 35-21 margin on Friday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chalmette will have to contain Jakwan Jones as he made an impact in Slidell's last game. He rushed for 221 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Jones also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Slidell is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.
Slidell's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Chalmette, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. Chalmette has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 152.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Slidell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 213.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
