Football Game Recap: Riverdale vs. Gulf Coast

After losing to Gulf Coast the last time they met, Riverdale decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went Riverdale's way against Gulf Coast on Friday as they made off with a 47-20 victory. Followers of Riverdale probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.

Gulf Coast got a solid performance out of senior Anthony Henderson, who rushed for 71 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Kaden Kitchener, who racked up 13 tackles.

The win bumped Riverdale's record up to 6-0. The loss dropped Gulf Coast back to even at 3-3.

Next week Riverdale take on Island Coast at 7:30 PM. Riverdale are cruising in on a six-game winning streak while Island Coast are stumbling in off of five consecutive losses. As for Gulf Coast, they will face off against Barron Collier.
