Basketball Game Preview: Marion Swamp Foxes vs. St. James Sharks

The Marion Swamp Foxes are taking a road trip to take on the St. James Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while St. James will come in with five straight victories.

Marion came up short against Lexington on Saturday, falling 59-37.

Despite the defeat, Marion saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rodrick Dickerson went 6-for-10 en route to 13 points. Dickerson also set a new season-high mark in shooting accuracy with 60%. Another player making a difference was Charles White II, who posted four points.

Meanwhile, St. James strolled past Wando with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 57-42.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. James, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Marion lost to St. James on the road by a decisive 57-40 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Swamp Foxes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
