Baseball Game Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Bonneville Lakers

For the second straight game, Viewmont will face off against Bonneville. The Vikings will head out to challenge the Lakers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Viewmont has seven straight wins, Bonneville has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Viewmont is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Bonneville get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.

Viewmont got a massive performance out of Kade Marriott, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Marriott has posted since back in March. Spencer Rees was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Viewmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Viewmont's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Bonneville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.
