Basketball Recap: Fivay Falcons vs. Countryside Cougars

Suggested Video

If Fivay was feeling good fresh off their 66-40 takedown of Anclote last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fivay Falcons took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Countryside Cougars on Wednesday. That makes it the first time this season the Falcons have let down their home crowd.

Despite the loss, Fivay still got an impressive performance from Odell Brown, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Dominick Walsh, who posted six points and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Countryside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Padags, who went 6 for 14 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most boards Padags has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Perlin, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Fivay's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-7. As for Countryside, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.

As of now, neither Fivay nor Countryside have any future games scheduled.
