Basketball Recap: New Rockford-Sheyenne Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but New Rockford-Sheyenne unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by the Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots 69-40. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Patriots are ranked 17th).

New Rockford-Sheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Rockford-Sheyenne will venture away from home to challenge Griggs County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg, they will head out to face off against Hillsboro/Central Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Hillsboro/Central Valley likes a good challenge.
