Wyatt Barmes turned in yet another pitching appearance with more than eight strikeouts on Monday. He struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He was up against Roosevelt and has quite the history against that squad, as he also had a great game the last time he faced them back in March of 2024. Barmes is becoming a predictor of Berthoud's success: when he posts at least ten strikeouts the team is 3-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

Even though Barmes couldn't lead Berthoud over Roosevelt, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sadly, Barmes' big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Spartans' three-game streak of wins on the road.
