Softball Recap: Presentation Panthers vs. Valley Christian Warriors
Presentation extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 10-11. They came up short against the Valley Christian Warriors, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-5 back in April.
Julia Simon made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
As for Valley Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Valley Christian, who have now won 17 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
On Valley Christian's side, they let Sia Marsh and Leanna Holguin run wild. Marsh went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Holguin went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Holguin has posted since back in April. Gabrielle Ho was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Coming up, Presentation will take on Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Irish have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Valley Christian, they will face off against St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
