Basketball Game Preview: Pass Christian Pirates vs. Morton Panthers

The Pass Christian Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Morton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pass Christian has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while Morton will arrive with 14 straight wins.

Last Friday, Pass Christian came up short against Bay and fell 42-35. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Tigers are ranked 68th).

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Panthers on Saturday. Morton beat Quitman by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 48-38.

Morton pushed their record up to 23-5 with the victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.1 points over those games. As for Pass Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-23.
