Recap: Lakeside Lancers vs. Summit SkyHawks

On Friday, Lakeside was the victim of a tough 68-44 defeat at the hands of Summit. While losing is never fun, Lakeside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 861st, while Summit is ranked 353rd).

Lakeside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Maurice Turner, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Turner hasn't dropped below 16 points for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Andrew Knudson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Lakeside and nudges their season record down to 11-16. As for Summit, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-12.

Lakeside will head out on the road to face off against Workman at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Workman is coming into the matchup with six straight victories at home, so Lakeside is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Summit will take on Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Summit knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Arcadia likes a good challenge.
