Basketball Recap: Norfolk Catholic Takes a Loss

Norfolk Catholic had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 10-15 to make it five. They were outmatched by the Elkhorn Valley Falcons and fell 66-36. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-19.

Despite the defeat, Norfolk Catholic had strong showings from Grace Kosch, who posted ten points, and Sidonia Wattier, who had seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

As for Elkhorn Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 25-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points on average this season.

Elkhorn Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayton Werner, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. What's more, Werner also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2025. Another player making a difference was Cameron Rutjens, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 21 points.

As of now, neither Norfolk Catholic nor Elkhorn Valley have any future games scheduled.
