Baseball Game Preview: Highland Scots vs. Ridgeview Wolf Pack

For the second straight game, Highland will face off against Ridgeview. The Scots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolf Pack at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Highland couldn't beat Ridgeview on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Scots fell just short of the Wolf Pack by a score of 6-5.

For Ridgeview's part, Adrian Bravo was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Bravo has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joel Gutierrez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Isaiah Marquez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Ridgeview is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-16.
