Football Recap: Winona Wildcats vs. Elkhart Elks
A victory for Winona just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were beaten by the Elkhart Elks 49-7. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Elkhart found their leader in sophomore Dalton Walker, who rushed for 238 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Walker's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Elkhart also got help from Jayden Chapman, who showed off his sure hands for 94 receiving yards.
Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Elkhart, their record is now 3-6.
Winona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elkhart, they will square off against New Diana at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in New Diana's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
