Softball Recap: Amador Finds Home Field Redemption Against Galt

There's no place like home for Amador, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Galt Warriors 15-2 on Thursday. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Jessica Mittelstadt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Amador got a massive performance out of Faith DelReal, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Sydney Faria was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Amador was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galt only posted a batting average of .188.

Amador is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Galt's record is now 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Amador is set to square off against their familiar foe Union Mine at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Galt will take on rival Argonaut at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
