Basketball Game Preview: Bridgewater/Emery Huskies vs. Centerville Tornadoes

The Bridgewater/Emery Huskies will head out on the road to square off against the Centerville Tornadoes at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bridgewater/Emery is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Scotland/Menno: they outscored them in every quarter. The Huskies put the hurt on the Trappers with a sharp 70-48 victory back in January. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Trappers are ranked 125th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Centerville waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 65-45 margin over the Cubs.

Centerville's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Bridgewater/Emery, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Bridgewater/Emery didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Centerville when the teams last played back in February of 2025, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
