Recap: Lovett Lions vs. Stockbridge Tigers

This season hasn't been kind to the Lovett Lions, who are still winless after their 15th game. They were beaten by Stockbridge 75-16 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Lovett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while Stockbridge is ranked 46th).

Stockbridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayla Fulks out in front who scored 16 points along with three steals. The game was Fulks' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidyn Chestnut-Hill, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.

Lovett's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Stockbridge, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Lovett will be playing at home against Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hampton is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Stockbridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Pace Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Pace Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
