Baseball Game Preview: Wynford Royals vs. Carey Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Wynford will face off against Carey. The Royals will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Wynford has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Wynford's win against Carey wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Royals had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Brayden Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has become a key player for Wynford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 2-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Hunter Routson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Wynford's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Carey, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
