Softball Recap: Williamsburg Blue Pirates vs. Curwensville Golden Tide
Williamsburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 27 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-17 in the process. They lost 20-0 to the Curwensville Golden Tide. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Tide this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 last Tuesday.
As for Curwensville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. The result was nothing new for Curwensville, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
For Curwensville's part, Addison Siple made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Siple has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Kylah Wos was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (four). Addison Warren was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
As of now, neither Williamsburg nor Curwensville have any future games scheduled.
