Softball Recap: Aiken Fighting Green Hornets vs. Gilbert Indians
Aiken was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 20-10 to the Gilbert Indians. Even if the Fighting Green Hornets couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Zoey George and Trinity Frasier stepped up to the plate in a big way. George went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Frasier went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Raylan Leatherwood, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Aiken's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Gilbert, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.
