Softball Recap: Aiken Comes Up Short

Aiken was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 20-10 to the Gilbert Indians. Even if the Fighting Green Hornets couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Zoey George and Trinity Frasier stepped up to the plate in a big way. George went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Frasier went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Raylan Leatherwood, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Aiken's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Gilbert, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Aiken has already played their next contest, a 13-0 defeat against North Augusta on the 16th. As for Gilbert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against White Knoll on the 15th.
