Softball Recap: Amite County Trojans vs. McComb Tigers

Amite County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss. They lost 21-9 to the McComb Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 31-10 loss back in February.

Jon'Asia Ratliff and Leshiya Ashley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ratliff scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Ashley scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Reginea Pearley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Amite County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for McComb, they moved to 7-7-1 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Amite County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McComb, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Franklin County at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.31 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
