Softball Recap: North Eugene Has No Trouble Against Thurston

North Eugene hadn't done well against Thurston recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Highlanders were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Colts. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ella Anderson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden DeWitt, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

North Eugene always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

North Eugene now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Thurston, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

North Eugene will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
