Bessemer City won the last time they faced East Gaston and things went their way on Friday too. The Bessemer City Yellow Jackets took their matchup with ease, bagging a 68-28 victory over the East Gaston Warriors. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Bessemer City to victory were Tionna Pettus and Kionna Pettus. Tionna dropped a triple-double on 46 points, 15 boards, and 13 steals, while Kionna dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Tionna has scored at least a third of Bessemer City's points. Another player making a difference was Addison Carpenter, who posted two points and three steals.

Bessemer City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

East Gaston's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayla Maiers, who earned 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Sides, who put up eight points.

Bessemer City's record is now 8-6. As for East Gaston, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
