Basketball Game Preview: Chugiak Mustangs vs. Eagle River Wolves + How To Watch

Chugiak is on a four-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Eagle River a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Chugiak Mustangs just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Eagle River Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Chugiak came up short against South Anchorage on Monday, falling 72-52. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Wolverines are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Eagle River had to suffer through a 55-28 loss at the hands of Soldotna.

Eagle River's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Chugiak, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Everything went Chugiak's way against Eagle River in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, as Chugiak made off with a 72-49 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
