The South Effingham Mustangs will square off against the Apalachee Wildcats on Wednesday. South Effingham is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

On Saturday, South Effingham narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Effingham County 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Rebels since October 14, 2023.

Meanwhile, Apalachee was able to grind out a solid victory over Clarke Central on Tuesday, taking the game 2-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Gladiators recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Apalachee's victory bumped their record up to 25-18. As for South Effingham, their win bumped their record up to 38-10.
