Volleyball Recap: Fort Frye Takes a Loss

Fort Frye came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Marietta Tigers, falling 3-0. The Cadets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Haley Wilkinson was a one-woman wrecking crew For Marietta. as she had 35 digs and one assist. Wilkinson is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 19 every time she's taken the court this season. Clara Becker was another key player, getting 21 digs.

Fort Frye's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. As for Marietta, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Coming up, Fort Frye will challenge Monroe Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Marietta, they will take on Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
