Baseball Game Preview: Lindblom Eagles vs. Jones Eagles

For the second straight game, Lindblom will face off against Jones. Lindblom will be playing in front of their home fans against Jones at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lindblom has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 16.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lindblom and Jones, and Jones kept the tradition alive. Lindblom lost 10-1 to Jones on Monday.

For Jones' part, they got a great performance from Gabe Manier as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. Jones is 2-1 when Manier allows one or fewer hits, but 9-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Christophe DeWijkerslooth was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Jones' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 8-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Macedo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Jones was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

With the win, Jones broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-14. As for Lindblom, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
