Jamall Thompson leads Moreno Valley to victory over Vista del Lago

Recap: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Vista del Lago Ravens

Even though the Vista del Lago Ravens scored an imposing 65 points on Thursday, the Moreno Valley Vikings still came out on top. Moreno Valley took down Vista del Lago 84-65. Moreno Valley pushed the score to 63-40 by the end of the third, a deficit Vista del Lago cut but never quite recovered from.

It was another big night for Jamall Thompson, who scored 31 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Moreno Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Palm, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Several Ravens players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was T'jai Lyon English, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lyon English has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Freddy Alarcon, who scored 15 points along with three steals.

Even though they lost, Vista del Lago smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moreno Valley only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

The win got Moreno Valley back to even at 11-11. As for Vista del Lago, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moreno Valley will take on Temescal Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Temescal Canyon will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Vista del Lago, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Heritage is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
