Softball Recap: Franklin Has No Trouble Against East Henderson

While Franklin put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for East Henderson. The Franklin Panthers put the hurt on the East Henderson Eagles with a sharp 10-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Suzanna Cabe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Franklin let Jozy Dehart and Layla Maloy run wild. Dehart scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Maloy scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that Maloy snagged this season. Meliah Mason was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Henderson only managed one hit.

Franklin now has a winning record of 3-2. As for East Henderson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coincidentally, Franklin and East Henderson will both be playing Tuscola the next time they take the field. East Henderson will head out to face Tuscola at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Franklin will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
