Softball Recap: Monument Valley Gets the Win

Monument Valley took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Page, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs won by a run and slipped past the Sand Devils 10-9.

Blu Peterman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and eight unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Hailey Etsitty was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Meya-Raye Bahe, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

Monument Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Monument Valley's record is now 3-1. As for Page, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1.

Looking ahead, Monument Valley will take on Pinon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Page, they will challenge Hurricane at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
