Volleyball Recap: St. Paul Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Keislyn Poss and Zaya Lewis

St. Paul was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ogallala Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

St. Paul's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zaya Lewis, who had 32 assists and 15 digs, and Keislyn Poss, who had 17 digs and three aces. Lewis is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

Among those leading the charge was Ella Mueller, who had ten digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high. Kooper Knispel also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

St. Paul's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Ogallala, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

St. Paul wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Minden on the 20th. As for Ogallala, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against York on the 20th.
