Softball Game Preview: Overhills Jaguars vs. E.E. Smith Golden Bulls

The Overhills Jaguars will take on the E.E. Smith Golden Bulls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Overhills has three straight wins, E.E. Smith has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Overhills is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past E.E. Smith 23-5 on Tuesday. Considering the Jaguars have won four contests by more than 12 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grace Anne Holtz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Holtz was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaelyn Houston, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, five runs, and five RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Serenity McLean was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

The victory got Overhills back to even at 4-4. As for E.E. Smith, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
