Softball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-6 to the St. Charles North North Stars.

Avon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halle Babinec, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Lilly Heath was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for St. Charles North, the win (which was their 13th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Avon will face off against Eastern Hancock at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Charles North, they will square off against Wheaton North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the North Stars their first taste of in-conference action this season.
