Baseball Recap: Seton Catholic Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Seton Catholic had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Apache Junction on Tuesday. Seton Catholic blew past Apache Junction 9-3. The win continues a trend for the Sentinels in their matchups with the Prospectors: they've now won eight in a row.

Drew Campagna looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had over his last four contests.

On the hitting side, Brady Stephenson was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jax Minnis, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Apache Junction, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5.

ALA - Ironwood has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.4 runs per game on average), something Seton Catholic will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Apache Junction, they will take on Snowflake at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Snowflake will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Apache Junction surely won't give up without a fight.
