Softball Recap: Ridgevue Comes Up Short

Ridgevue extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping them down to 3-13. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Centennial Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

Ridgevue saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendal Holloway, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Easton Porter was another, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

As for Centennial, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-14 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 10, 2025.

On Centennial's side, Bailey Simpson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Simpson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Charlize Veldhouse, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Ridgevue does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centennial, they will venture away from home to challenge Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
